The Globeleq Scholarship Fund (GSF) 2021 academic year has opened and is available to students living within a 50km radius of Klipheuwel Wind Farm, in the Theewaterskloof Municipality. This include the communities of Genadendal, Caledon, Grabouw, Botriver and Hermanus.
“The GSF supports 100% black youth and mostly women beneficiaries, aimed at supporting the transformation agenda of this country,” said Hlengiwe Radebe, Economic Development Director for Globeleq.
Since 2016, recipients of the Fund have been 100% black youth and over 55% female for the last three years. The programme utilises a holistic approach to funding by typically not only focusing on academic achievement, but rather on financial need, location of the students and gender.
This programme also offers opportunities through an internship programme for beneficiaries to gain the necessary work experience.
